Treatments we provide

Traditional Acupuncture

Traditional acupuncture can help to reduce swelling, bruising and inflammation and promote blood flow, relax spasms, stimulate lymphatic function and immune response, and encourage the production of endogenous healing mediators in the tissue while suppressing pain signals.

Liniments & Plasters

Medicated herbal products that are applied to the skin over the injury for absorption into the tissue to support blood circulation, healing mediators in the tissue, and pain relief between clinic visits.

Gua Sha (Scraping Therapy)

Gua sha releases the production of nitric oxide in the area providing pain relief. There is evidence that Gua sha also releases an endogenous, potent anti-inflammatory protein (heme-oxygenase-1) reducing inflammation locally without restricting local blood flow.

Cupping

Cupping is used for soft tissue injury rehabilitation, to strongly promote relaxation and stress reduction, to improve micro-circulation and encourage blood flow of the body's internal systems, and to trigger a protective immune response.

Moxibustion (Moxa)

Moxibustion (Moxa) is a heating treatment using the medicinal herb, Artemisia Vulgaris. Moxa can be given in the clinic and performed at home to support recovery faster. Moxa is used to promote blood circulation, immune factors to repair damaged tissues, and to stimulate cellular metabolism.

"Ashi" Trigger Point/Dry needling

“Ashi” needling techniques are different from using regular acupuncture points and works to break up accumulations in the tissue, improve circulation and blood flow to nourish cellular metabolism, reduce pain and inflammation, and restore range of motion and strength.
